ICU
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is an independent, self-contained area within a healthcare facility designed for close monitoring, rapid intervention, and often extensive treatment of patients with acute organ failure. Equipped with high-tech professional facilities. It is dedicated to treating and monitoring patients with life-threatening illnesses. Critical care aims to preserve vital functions, prevent physiological deterioration in critically ill patients, reduce mortality, and prevent morbidity. Critical care delivery occurs within a continuum of primary, secondary, and tertiary care, with most of these services provided in secondary care.
